Terms of Use
Effective 30 September 2026. PluckIt is made by UpLevel Technologies LLC.
These Terms are the agreement between you and UpLevel Technologies LLC (“we”, “us”) for the PluckIt app and service. They also serve as the end-user licence agreement for the app. By creating an account or using PluckIt, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use PluckIt.
Two sections change your legal rights and are worth reading in full: Limitation of liability and Disputes, which requires individual arbitration and waives class actions unless you opt out within 30 days.
1. Who may use PluckIt
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use PluckIt only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms. If you use PluckIt for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.
2. Your account
PluckIt signs you in with a one-time link sent to your email address, or with Sign in with Apple. There is no password. Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who can read your email can request a sign-in link. Tell us at support@pluckitapp.com if you believe someone else has reached your account.
You are responsible for activity under your account. One account is for one person; do not share it.
3. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
PluckIt offers a free tier and a paid subscription. Paid subscriptions are sold through the App Store and billed to your Apple ID.
- Automatic renewal. A subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in your Apple ID subscription settings on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; you keep access until then.
- Price and plan. The price, billing period, and what the subscription includes are shown in the app before you buy and on the App Store listing. If we raise the price of an existing subscription, Apple will ask for your consent before the increase takes effect, and you may cancel instead.
- Free trials. If a free trial is offered, unused trial time is forfeited when you buy a subscription. A trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
- Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases. You may request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
We never receive or store your payment card details.
4. Your content stays yours
You keep all rights in the links, notes, images, documents, and other material you save to PluckIt (“your content”). We claim no ownership of it.
You grant us only the limited licence we need to run the service for you: to store your content, transmit it, and process it in order to generate previews, extract text, create search indexes, and produce the summaries and labels PluckIt shows you — including sending it to the processors listed in our privacy policy for exactly those purposes. This licence exists so that the product can function, it is not transferable or sublicensable except to those processors, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.
We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not sell it, publish it, or share it for advertising.
You are responsible for having the right to save what you save, and for your content not infringing anyone else's rights or breaking any law.
5. AI features, and their limits
PluckIt uses AI to title, summarise, classify, and index what you save, and to let you search by meaning. You should know three things about that:
- The output can be wrong. AI-generated titles, summaries, extracted text, dates, and labels are produced automatically and are sometimes inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Check anything that matters against the original item, which PluckIt always keeps.
- It is not professional advice. Do not rely on PluckIt's AI output for legal, medical, financial, safety, or other consequential decisions.
- It involves a third party. To do this, the content of an item is sent to our AI processor. Which processor, and on what terms, is set out in the privacy policy. If you would rather a particular item were not processed this way, do not save it to PluckIt.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use PluckIt to:
- store or distribute material that is unlawful, or that infringes someone's intellectual property or privacy;
- store child sexual abuse material, or content that promotes terrorism or violence;
- break into, overload, probe, or disrupt the service or the systems it runs on, or circumvent its limits, rate limits, or access controls;
- scrape or bulk-extract the service, or use it to build a competing product;
- resell or redistribute the service; or
- use the service to violate any applicable law or third party's terms — including when PluckIt fetches a web page you save.
7. Links and third-party material
When you save a link, PluckIt fetches that page to read its title and text. We do not control third-party sites or the content you save from them, we do not endorse them, and we are not responsible for them.
8. Availability and changes
PluckIt is under active development. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may set or adjust limits — on storage, file size, or processing — as the service evolves. We aim to give notice in the app before a change that materially reduces what a paid subscription provides, and if such a change affects you mid-term you may cancel.
We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may suspend it for maintenance.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using PluckIt at any time and delete your account from Settings in the app. Deleting your account removes your saved content and cannot be undone.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms — in particular the acceptable-use section — or if we must to comply with the law or protect the service or other people. Except where the breach makes it inappropriate, we will try to tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. If we terminate your account without cause while you have paid time remaining, we will ask Apple to refund the unused portion.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination do: your content licence for anything you have not deleted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and disputes.
10. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, PluckIt is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted or secure, or that any output will be accurate.
PluckIt is not a backup service. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither UpLevel Technologies LLC nor its officers, members, employees, or suppliers will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to PluckIt — whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, and even if we have been advised of the possibility.
Our total liability for all claims relating to PluckIt in any 12-month period will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for PluckIt in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) twenty US dollars (US$20).
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including, where applicable, fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold UpLevel Technologies LLC harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising out of your content, your use of PluckIt, or your breach of these Terms — except to the extent the claim arises from our own wrongdoing. This does not apply where the law does not permit it.
13. Disputes
Talk to us first
If something goes wrong, email support@pluckitapp.com with a description of the problem and what you would like us to do. Most things are resolved this way. Both of us agree to try for 60 days before starting a formal proceeding.
Binding individual arbitration
If we cannot resolve it informally, you and we agree that any dispute relating to PluckIt or these Terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, not in court, and that each of us waives the right to a jury trial. Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, before one arbitrator, in San Francisco, California, or — at your election — in your home county, by telephone, or on documents only. The arbitrator decides the dispute and may award the same individual relief a court could.
No class actions
Claims must be brought individually. You and we each waive any right to bring or participate in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any form of representative proceeding. If this paragraph is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim — and only that claim — goes to court under section 14.
Exceptions
Either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either of us may seek an injunction in court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property. Nothing here prevents you from reporting a concern to a government agency.
How to opt out
You may opt out of arbitration and the class-action waiver by emailing support@pluckitapp.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with your name, the email on your account, and a statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect anything else in these Terms, and it will not be held against you.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. For any dispute not subject to arbitration, you and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in San Francisco, California. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence.
15. Apple and the App Store
This section applies because you obtained PluckIt from the App Store.
- These Terms are between you and UpLevel Technologies LLC only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for PluckIt and its content.
- Your licence to use PluckIt is a non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple-branded product you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for PluckIt.
- If PluckIt fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for PluckIt. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to PluckIt or your use of it, including product-liability claims, any claim that PluckIt fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer-protection or similar law.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging any third-party claim that PluckIt or your use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using PluckIt.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.
Questions, complaints, or claims about PluckIt should go to UpLevel Technologies LLC at support@pluckitapp.com.
16. For California residents
Under California Civil Code section 1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
17. General
If a provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or sale of assets. These Terms, with the privacy policy, are the entire agreement between us about PluckIt. Neither of us is liable for a failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will update the effective date above and tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use PluckIt after that means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not, delete your account.
